Autumn Leaves...

Midi is Promises

When summer sunset's golden glows fade
From mountaintop and fertile glade
Vibrant panoramas quietly unfold
Into luxurious carpets of orange and gold,
Purple, scarlet, citron, and bronze
Refreshingly bright as braided chignons
Let loose in the breeze of autumn days
Undimmed by gray smog's smoldering haze
A ribbon of highway meanders through
Verdant valleys 'neath sapphire hue
I tremble with pride for such beauty divine
In this country I love, the one I call mine.
